rearrangements continue
Jan. 26th, 2004 12:48 amWell we're going to have a roommate again. I have attempted to warn her what we're like to live with. That the last 3 each lasted about 6 months and then moved to the other side of the continent. Ah well.
That seriously increases the amount of rearranging my stuff I have to do in the next week, but she's suposed to help, so there is hope there.

be specific :)
Jan. 26th, 2004 11:30 pmI went to the post office at Eastridge Mall to mail a bunch of stuff.
As I was leaving, a man walked up and asked me for "75 cents for food." Because a) the amount was specific, small, and peculiar, b) the location is not one where I usually expect panhandlers, c) the man asking didn't seem creepy (just odd to ask that), d) part of what I mailed was a gazillion bill payments so I was in that dispersing money mode, e) related to b, there were no other people lurking about likely to mob me for more if I gave him something ...
I reached in my purse and pulled out all the change I could get hold of easily - counted it. At first I thought it was exactly 75 cents, but one of the coins was actually a token for some transit system not a penny so it was only 74 cents. I reached back in, found another 12 cents, so I gave him 86 cents.

just after that
Jan. 26th, 2004 11:40 pmWhen I left the mall building and was walking towards my car I noticed a battered older Toyota Cressida in the handicapped parking with a ticket on the windshield (and no visible handicapped placard). As I got to the other side of it I noticed two more tickets stuck to the driver's window.
I had to look. Those two tickets were for overnight parking in that spot and one was dated Jan 8, the other Jan 10.
So if you don't have a handicapped plaque and you park in handicapped parking at Eastridge, you will be ticketed. However you can apparently leave it there for more than 2 weeks and still find it there later.
