I really do think that :
1) it will be overturned
2) going through this process of it passing and being overturned will set stronger legal arguments and precedents, making a much better case for gender neutral marriage than if prop 8 had been merely voted down
a) this will aid the spread of the principle to other states much more than if it had been voted down.
