Now if I'm understanding this article, it's about the rules that a certain amount of government contracts needing to go to minority and woman-owned businesses, not necessarily small businesses? Or does the law actually say that too?
Generally a huge problem is the size and increasing size and reach of mega corporations. What we all need is more indpendent local business and the ability for people to start them. When you hear of improved conditions in 3rd world countries, it's more often about the wonders worked by micro-loan programs for micro-businesses, it's not so much about the latest sweatshop of a multi-national.
Changes that improve the climate for small businesses are what we need. Ones that make it any harder are what we emphaticallhy do not need.
