Jan. 3rd, 2005 12:38 amFor New Years Eve, we were among the exactly 10 people who thought it was the perfect time to go to "Spike & Mike's Sick and Twisted Festival of Animation". It got out just a few minutes before midnight, so at midnight we were outside being wished "Happy New Year" by various drunk folks wandering down the street.
Lost? : While waiting to cross San Carlos St, a car pulled up across the street and the young female driver opened the door and yelled "How do I get to San Pablo?" I was so confused by that that I didn't even attempt to answer. San Pablo??? The town in the East Bay? The big street in the East Bay? Is there a San Pablo somewhere in San Jose? eek?
So then last night we rented Gozu which manages to be more sick and twisted than any of the animation. It's funny, a bit creepy, a yakuza horror mystery with a cow-headed demon and milk. I deliberately did not link to a site that gives a synopsis right off... it's probably better to wander into this with the mimimum of spoilage.
