Thursday I fetched [livejournal.com profile] revlainiep at the airport and delivered her to the hotel, later visiting over there.

Friday I managed to make it to 2 presentations:

Allyn Wolfe's history lecture largely on how pretty much everyone got to England sometime before 1066, which was really driven home to me ages ago by a bunch of kids books I read by one author (anyone recognize who? I can't remember her name) where the heros were always kids in England trying to fight off the foreign invaders, but the kids in one book would be the same nationality as the invaders in another. He did finally reach the 19th and 20th centuries - and the origins of Golden Dawn, the work of Dion Fortune's group and the Seymour-Hartley stuff, the existence of 2(?) related Crotona fellowships - not just the New Forest one, etc -- in order to actually retain the parts I didn't already know I'll probably need to see notes from AW or someone later.

Gwen Templeton's "Dancing in the Dark" -- well I like having reasons to dance :). I enjoyed it. I thought her music selections went well with what we were doing. She started us out dancing individually for quite some time paying attention to various body parts. Then eventually forming pairs, 4s, 8s, etc until all were in one blob. This was okay with me, but it did occur to me that I know people who would freak at that sort of envelopment by so many strangers...well if there were any there they managed to sneak out or suffer in silence - they weren't noticeable.

Then eventually I made it to [livejournal.com profile] devafall,[livejournal.com profile] tiggrrl, and [livejournal.com profile] darkmoon's party where I got to play a very silly word game :)

Saturday morning I would have liked to go to Pele's dancing/moving workshop, but I was late and the door guard said it was closed... though Sunday night Pele said it would have been okay to come in and gave me a synopsis of what she did. Sounded like fun. Sounds similar to the one thought I've had of ever doing a presentation, but going to someone else's is as good.

In the afternoon I got to Lon Duquette's talk, which was amusing, but there were other distractions going on in my immediate surroundings when he got to the actual topic of the Thoth deck. Perhaps I'll do what he kept telling us to do and get the book.

Finally met this [livejournal.com profile] salimondo person. Who in person talks much the same as on the phone or in writing. Along with a couple friends of his who seemed rather familiar to me for being people I'd supposedly not met before?? and with [livejournal.com profile] phygelus and [livejournal.com profile] queenbarbora and [livejournal.com profile] vakratunda expeditioned to sushi with a side trip for shoes. Eventually all making it to a party on the 10th floor, where I discovered that I knew [livejournal.com profile] tyrsalvia from IRC #thelema about 9 years ago and saw many other folks I know and generally had fun, though eventually I got annoyed with [livejournal.com profile] phygelus and [livejournal.com profile] salimondo going on and on about Tolkien and national myths and the prevention thereof, though I was also rather drowsy by then.

Sunday of course I went to the Circle Dance workshop - and finally I could almost remember to do their versions of the movements for the Isis, Astarte, etc chant... According to what they said the first time I went - It sounds like they got the idea from hearing of the ones I had made up, but they only got Diana and Demeter the same with Kali similar. Isis, Astarte, and Inanna are way different. (My version was invented at Ancient Ways in about '93 or so and inflicted on people at Merrymeet in '95 as well as some local groups.)

Sunday afternoon to the RJ Stewart workshop about the Well of Light. It was good for me. It's not something I can say much about though.

Went in search of DUCK with [livejournal.com profile] revlainiep - Quack - wound up with excess soup and curry to bring back to hospitality. Will have to have more duck next time she's out here. My mother called and asked if I had a passport, but didn't say why, which was peculiar, but explained in another of today's posts.

I tried to go to the RJ Stewart concert, but was feeling far too much need to ramble about and interact and not sit still so I did, eventually having a nice talk with [livejournal.com profile] devafall, that was joined by [livejournal.com profile] tass, and then [livejournal.com profile] uncledark and [livejournal.com profile] tiggrrl. After which we went wandering to another enjoyable party -- where the shushing kept making me think we were missing about 4 1/2 feet of nice warm water so I could float instead of stand.

Monday I had to check out Coven Feud - the successor to Iron Priest -- amusing but very long.
