some random thoughts recently

Of course the other obvious joiner is that once we are born we are on the road to death, go through one gate and you will go through the other.
And the third joining of the two is that life must be fed. All animals feed on life that is dead or dying. Herbivores too. Even if they don't eat the entire plant, the cells they do eat were living organisms and they die.
Speaking of cells, multi-cellular organisms also experience death continually as cells die and are sometimes replaced.
These last two are deaths throughout life.

Pain and appreciation :) If you always get what you want, you are likely to take that for granted. It's the setbacks that make most of us appreciate what we do get more. Knowing that it's not absolute and guaranteed.
Having to work at something, putting in some effort, tends to make it more important to you.
- reminders of all of these coming from a wide variety of sources around me recently, seeming to compliment each other.
