haven't written anything in here for a few days - what's up?
Sun night Josh's glasses broke. They really were glass and one of the lenses fell out in the bathroom and cracked up on hitting the hard porcelain fixtures. We've been saying we needed to get him new ones for quite some time, now we really have to.
Mon morning we went to the optometrist I went to recently. I had had a good experience with them. Bzzzt. Josh is so not me. The optometrist herself was fine, but the store manager who we had to go through to order the glasses was a bit creepy. Also I liked them because they were able to give me contacts to wear right away instead of waiting a week for them... Josh's glasses first they said 3 days, but by the time we left they were saying 'Call if you haven't heard from us in 7 business days'. Today is day 3. We were getting resigned to the idea that he might have to do Pantheacon without being able to see much, but I just called and they're in!
Most of the rest of the week is me trying to convince myself that its time to get more of an "I'm a consultant hire me", page up, and just not quite being able to get myself to work on it. Self promotion is just so scary.
Almost got a short-term ASP contract this morning but they really wanted someone who'd done stored procedures on SQL Server before. The good part is that she already talked to the Engineering VP from my last company and said he says good things. I like knowing that even if it didn't work for this one. Maybe I can get another contract from that recruiter.
I got the Lunardi's pictures off of my camera, maybe I'll finally make the post I was going to about that tonight.
Tomorrow starts Pantheacon.
